Ikigai is a concept that refers to something which gives a person a sense of purpose. Ikigai can describe having a sense of purpose in life as well as being motivated enough to see things through to completion and sharing these gifts with the world. Feeling Ikigai as described in Japanese usually means the feeling of accomplishment and fulfilment that follows when people pursue their passions. It captures the essence of drive, passion, creativity and the joyfulness that comes from doing something that you love. When you do what you love and find joy in it, life flows more easily and you attract to you all the people and opportunities that you need to take you to the next level. By practising Ikigai you define your soul purpose, your personal mission and through this attain your full potential. We do this by defining how we can best contribute to the world, by looking at what we are good at, and enjoy doing. Those who practise Ikigai are fully present in their lives as they feel they are giving value to others and this brings a sense of lasting fulfilment.
